MUSE

Muse is defined as a person who is a source of inspiration for an artist. More than inspire, Goldie my wife, rolls up her metaphoric sleeves and dives right in, spotting, engaging potential subjects, blocking traffic on the sidewalk when necessary, giving me advice (sometimes not necessary), posing, warning me when I step back off a curb, and waiting with infinite patience for me to take that one last shot. My photos often show her in the background. Her presence and partnering are endearing and one of the unique strengths of our marriage. Her ability to blend with the background confounds me. An artist in her own right, she playfully and skillfully creates poses right for the moment. Oh, before I forget, she has reminded me that she’s my instant audience to look at new photos!
