SYNCHRONICITY
Henri Cartier-Bresson began and ended his career as an artist. In between, he was one of the 20th century’s greatest photographers. To him, quote: “Photography is a reaction; drawing is a meditation.” Was he a photographer, an artist, or primarily a humanist who photographed and drew? I share in this dilemma. I don’t view myself as a typical photographer since the usual stuff of photo club meetings holds little interest. How things and people relate to one another is more important to me than the images of things or people themselves. The intangibles, the in-betweens, the similarities, the differences, the humor, joy, sadness, and the human spirit - this is what matters most. In this section, I focus on synchronicity – what appears to be coincidental yet may just be the Cosmos having fun.
